The basis for the standard thickness of sintered stone slabs

The selection of slab thickness is not arbitrary, but based on the following factors:

Application: Different applications have different thickness requirements. Thin slabs are preferred for wall decoration to reduce weight, while countertops require thicker slabs to ensure load-bearing capacity.

National and industry standards: As a ceramic product, the production and application of porcelain slabs partially refer to the "Ceramic Tiles" (GB/T 4100-2015) standard. Although the standard does not explicitly specify the thickness of porcelain slabs, it does have requirements for the physical properties of ceramic materials, which indirectly affect thickness design.

Manufacturing process: Porcelain slabs are made through high-temperature sintering and high-pressure molding. Thickness affects production costs and process difficulty. Thin slabs require higher precision equipment, while thick slabs require more raw materials.
