Raw Material Preparation
The main raw materials for slab tiles include clay, quartz, feldspar, and kaolin. First, the raw materials need to be screened and proportioned to ensure that their quality and proportions meet the requirements. Then, the raw materials are sent to a ball mill for mixing and grinding to obtain a ceramic slurry suitable for manufacturing slab tiles.
Slurry Preparation
The ground raw materials are mixed with water in a certain proportion to form a ceramic slurry. During the mixing process, stirring and filtration are required to ensure the uniformity and stability of the slurry. After the slurry preparation is completed, testing and adjustment are necessary to ensure that its quality meets the requirements.
Body Forming
The prepared slurry is poured into a mold, and through vibration or pressure, the slurry fully fills the mold to form a tile body. The main methods of body forming are dry pressing and wet forming. Dry pressing involves pressing the slurry into a body and then drying it, while wet forming involves drying the slurry simultaneously with the forming process.
Green Body Drying
After the green body is formed, it needs to be dried. The purpose of drying is to remove moisture from the green body,
improving its strength and stability. There are two main drying methods: natural drying and mechanical drying. Natural drying involves placing the green body in a well-ventilated area, allowing it to dry gradually through the action of natural airflow; mechanical drying uses specialized drying equipment for heating and drying.
